The Dance on Camera Tour is Coming to Tufts!

We're hosting a screening! On March 27, 2015, we will be hosting our very own dance on camera screening on the Tufts campus. Most of what we will be showing will be shorts from the Dance on Camera Film Festival we attended in NYC as part of the Dance Films Association's Dance on Camera Tour; however, we will also be showing a few additional works by our guest artist-panelists Rachel Boggia, Ana Isabel Keilson, Daphna Mero, Paul Sarvis, and Marlon Barrios Solano. We hope to be able to showcase some student work as well. Additionally, all of our promotional materials double as AR trigger images! That means that if you scan any of our postcards or fliers with the dancetechAR app, you'll be able to watch a short dance video made by someone in the class. (More detailed instructions on that can be found here.)

More information on the screening, more images to scan with the dancetechAR app, and a video demo of the AR functionalities of our promotional materials can all be found after the jump:

The Tufts University Department of Drama & Dance presents
Dance on Camera Tour Film Screening

Join us March 27, 2015, at 7:00pm for a screening of selected dance films from the Dance Films Association and the Film Society of Lincoln Center's 2015 Dance on Camera Film Festival. The screening includes a pre-show talk and post-show Q&A session with guest artists Rachel Boggia, Ana Isabel Keilson, Daphna Mero, Paul Sarvis, and Marlon Barrios Solano. This event is free and open to the public.

The screening is being hosted by the Department's Dance on Camera course, the members of which attended the original festival in NYC this winter thanks to a Tufts Innovates! grant. This event is a collaboration between the Dance Program, the Digital Design Studio, Tufts Innovates!, Dance Films Association, and the Film Society of Lincoln Center. The Department's Dance on Camera course was created by Jaclyn Waguespack.

Dance Films Association and the Film Society of Lincoln Center co-present Dance on Camera Festival, the most anticipated and widely attended dance film event, inaugurated in 1971 and based in New York City. Each year, selected artists, respected film presenters, and hundreds of film fans come together to experience the latest in groundbreaking, thought provoking, and mesmerizing dance films. Dance Films Association continues to support the production, presentation, and preservation of dance films by connecting filmmakers, choreographers, presenters, and audiences worldwide through additional year-round programming.

The Sophia Gordon Hall multipurpose room is located at 15 Talbot Ave, Medford, MA 02155. Parking is available in the Tufts University Art Gallery lot.

If you want to be kept up-to-date on the screening, join our Facebook event!
